CARMICHAEL ON CHARLOTTE: Carmichael will be wearing his rookie stripe in this weekend’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 as he makes his on-track debut at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
CARMICHAEL ON TRUCKS: Carmichael scored his career-high finish of fourth in last weekend’s Dover 200, putting both Turner Motorsports trucks in the top-five. In addition to his top-five finish, Carmichael scored two top-10 finishes (Atlanta and Martinsville) in the first six races of the 2010 season.
CARMICHAEL ON COMPETING AT CHARLOTTE: “I’m looking forward to the race in Charlotte. I’ve never been there, but I’ve heard a lot of great things about it. I’m going to approach this like any other track that I’ve never been to and stay focused and learn as much as I can as quickly as I can.”
BEHIND THE WHEEL: Crew chief Mike Fritts has chosen Turner Motorsports chassis No.10 for Carmichael to pilot at Charlotte. This chassis was brand new for Nashville when Carmichael had an on-track incident in practice, preventing him from racing this truck during the race.
BET YOU DIDN’T KNOW: Carmichael will be racing with some of the biggest names in motorsports in this year’s “Prelude to the Dream.” He hit the dirt for the first time with fellow NCWTS driver Austin Dillon to test for the race and get a few tips. Carmichael will be racing with Team St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in the Prelude and, with the help of the fans, hopes to raise a lot of money for the children’s hospital. MEET RICKY: Fans can get their chance to meet Ricky Carmichael in-person from 2-3 pm on Thursday, May 20 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter at 5825 Thunder Road in Concord, NC. The Monster Energy sampling team will be on-hand with free samples for the fans.
