CARMICHAEL: DOVER PREVIEW

CARMICHAEL ON DOVER: Carmichael has made one career start at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, as the Florida native competed in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East event in September 2008. Driving a Ken Schrader-owned Chevrolet, Carmichael started in the 16th position and was scored in the top-five for the majority of the race. A late race caution brought the field back together for the final laps and Carmichael brought home a seventh-place finish, completing 100% of the laps attempted (150 of 150).

CARMICHAEL ON TRUCKS: Carmichael has scored two top-10 finishes (Atlanta and Martinsville) in the first five races of the 2010 season. Last season he competed in 18 Truck Series events and scored two top-10 finishes during his first season of NASCAR competition at the elite level.

BET YOU DIDN’T KNOW: During Carmichael’s first race at Dover in 2008, current crew chief Mike Fritts called the shots for the talented driver. This will be the pair’s second event at the Monster Mile.

HALL OF FAME: Carmichael spent Tuesday in uptown Charlotte, participating in the grand opening of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Carmichael signed autographs for fans, took part in a question and answer session, and received his first tour of the hall.

STAY UP TO SPEED: The Dover 200 from Dover International Speedway will take the green flag this Friday, May 14th at 4:45 PM Eastern. Race coverage will be televised on a tape-delayed basis on SPEED, beginning at 8 PM Eastern. In addition, Motor Racing Network (MRN) and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio (Channel 128) will have the live radio broadcast, beginning at 4:30 PM Eastern.
CARMICHAEL ON COMPETING AT THE MONSTER MILE: “Dover is a track that keeps you on your toes the entire race. When I ran the East race there, you go a lot faster than you think you will and with the banking being so steep, it forces you to hold your body up while driving. It is definitely one of the more physically demanding tracks that we go to, but you also have to have immense concentration to stay focused every lap. I had success there in 08 and hopefully we can do the same this time around. My Monster Energy Turner Motorsports team brings good Chevrolets to the track each time we unload and Dover won’t be any different.”
