James Buescher’s passion for racing started at a young age. When he climbed behind the wheel for the first time, Buescher knew right away that this was what he was meant to do. In 2004, the then 14-year-old competed in the Bandolero Young Gun Series at Texas Motor Speedway, where he went on to claim his first racing championship. The next year, in 2005, Buescher continued his growth as a driver, racing in the Legends Series. In a total of 56 races, Buescher claimed the victory in 24 events, at 22 different racetracks. The Texas native recorded wins in the Young Lions Nationals at the historic Music City Motorplex and in the Race of Champions at Lake Erie Speedway, en route to a runner-up finish in the National Championship point standings.

In 2006, Buescher started racing ASA Late Models for Turner Motorsports, driving the No. 2 car to numerous victories en route to the championship that season. In addition, Buescher captured the Rookie of the Year Award and Most Popular Driver Award, voted on by the fans. Advancing his career, Buescher moved to the USAR Pro Cup Series for two years, piloting the No. 84s and collecting solid finishes in the top-five every week.

While the young gun was proving his talent in the touring series, Buescher raced in select ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX events throughout the 2007 and 2008 seasons. In his first ARCA Series race at Lakeland Speedway, Buescher claimed the victory and replaced Kyle Busch by becoming the youngest winner in ARCA Series history, a title that he still holds today.

Also in 2008, Buescher was presented with an offer to participate in six NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) races for Braun Racing, competing against top NASCAR drivers. Relishing in the opportunity, Buescher claimed the pole position at Memphis Motorsports Park in October 2008 in only his third NNS start, while collecting solid top-15 finishes. In addition to his six NASCAR Nationwide Series races in the 2008 season, Buescher raced in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at the season-finale event at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

In 2009, Buescher competed full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for Circle Bar Racing. In his first complete NASCAR season, the 19-year-old captured one top-five and three top-10 finishes, while racing against wily season veterans in the tough top-three tier NASCAR division. Also, Buescher participated in four ARCA Series races for Win-Tron Racing, where he collected two wins and three top-five finishes. His first 2009 ARCA Series win came in the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway (February 2009), which he followed by winning in his second ARCA RE/MAX Series race of the season at Kentucky Speedway (May 2009).

For the 2010 season, Buescher has signed with Phoenix Racing to compete full-time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, behind the wheel of the No. 1 Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Chevrolet. In addition, Buescher will return to Turner Motorsports to drive the No. 31 Chevrolet Silverado in at least 19 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events.

It is without a doubt that Buescher has what it takes to compete successfully in NASCAR’s top-three series as his future is very bright. Buescher’s resume shows that he is able to perform at a top-notch level and as he develops into a more seasoned driver, the wins are sure to follow.

When Buescher is away from the racetrack, he enjoys hunting, playing video games, bike riding, and spending time with family and friends.
